why do i constantly feel nausea?

I am constantly feeling sick!! it doesnt start first thing in the morning but throughout the day it just emerges. its now at the point where i choose not to eat if i feel sick because i completely loose my appetite, which is making it worse because im then hungry too( but eating just makes it worse)

I also have severe emetaphobia (the fear of vomit) so i am constantly worried about being sick due to it(another reason i dont eat if i feel sick, to prevent vomiting)

I have counselling for the emetaphobia so when i feel sick it is cast off as being 'in my head' by my counsellor and family.

i feel like i am stuck because i dont want to go to the doctors incase they give me any medication that has vomiting as a side effect but i cant keep feeling the way i feel because it is taking over my life.

There has got to be a cause for the nausea, i refuse to believe it is my 'anxiety' from emetaphobia that is making me feel this way.

I sometimes have really bad headaches that last for 5-10 minutes consisting of sharp pains in the head and over the eyes. I also have shooting pains in my lower abdomen, but whether this is linked to the nausea i dont know.

Any suggestions????

I have the same thing, almost textbook. I found drinking water helps but also taking deep breath's. What I like to do is count five seconds while inhaling and then count five seconds while exhaling. And while mine gets really bad I never threw up locally even though like you I have sever emetophobia. *sigh* my mom also has the same thing as me so it probably is linked to some sort of anxiety or it's just dna

I understand how you feel I'm only 16 and have felt like this for about 2 years. I feel sick most of the time it's mainly on a night. I'm so scared about being sick and it can make me feel worse. I feel like I've got a lump at the back of my throat or that something is blocking my food from going down. I can feel like this for 5-10 minutes then it goes and comes back. I've been to the doctors but they said its anxiety but I don't believe it's just that I went again and had blood tests they were fine... Can anyone please help me I'm always worried about it and can't deal with it for much longer.

My parents say it is all in my head and that I cause all my issues

But even when I am not thinking about it I still get sick

Drs that can't figure it out will tell you it's in your head.. that your anxiety is causing it. It's only 1/4 of the truth.. something started it.. and now you're anxiety is exacerbating the whole situation. Took me well over ten years to get a good Dr.. don't give up.. you'll find one that can give you answers. If weight is an issue.. an issue only meaning that it could be part of the problem.. weight exacerbates several things.. Gerd.. a myriad of digestive issues.. blood sugars.. so many things. Gerd isn't viewed as serious by the masses since it's so common.. but little do most know ..it's very serious.. it can cause very uncomfortable symptoms and damage over time. You can also have this on top of other digestive issues.. the headache concerns me .. don't be so quick to rule out correlation.. and or causation. Hope you get some answers.. they wanted to inject botox into my vagus nerve at one point.. I said no. I stood up for myself when I was at my lowest.. I've had horrible run ins with bad er drs.. my best advice .. there are ignorant drs out there ..just because they're a dr doesn't mean they know everything.. or anything about your condition.. that's not to say there aren't great ..amazing .. example setting bar raising drs.. there are. Dr Rao in Augusta GA.. motility dept at Regents Medical Hospital. He's awesome and very kind as far as bed side manners go.

I definitely know how u feel. I've been this way for a few years but I've only started noticing it these past few weeks. I've come up with a theory that it's caused by the air pressure. Where I live there's usually high air pressure and that's when my naseua gets worse. I also get migraines when the air pressure is changing. But it could b what I'm eating too. When ever I eat I feel even worse though water makes it better. I've been thinking maybe I have major food allergies that make me feel sick. I could have a gluten allergy or a sensitivity to the acids in fruits. The only foods that don't make me feel sick r vegetables. You could try avoiding other foods and eat more vegetables.

You should keep track of when it gets worse and see if the air pressure is high. You could also try eating a lot of vegetables and drinking water.

If there's anything that has worked for u please tell me so I can try it v

I am in the exact same boat as you rightnow. I feel sick everyday and I have emetophobia as well. I've been diagnosed with anxiety and I feel like it's not anxiety either. I don't know what to do anymore it is getting out of hand. But I've noticed that it worsens when I don't get a good nights sleep. Have you solved it or have any tips?? Please help me out.

I had these exact same problems all through high school and into my early 20s, and I think I might be able to make a few suggestions based on my experiences.

Like most everyone else, I went to doctors and specialists and they found nothing. Eventually the symptoms faded away on their own.

One year ago, however, similar symptoms returned after a round if antibiotics, minus the anxiety from the emwtaphobia. I was perplexed. Some days it was just impossible to swallow food. I always felt like my gag reflex was being triggered.

My condition got slightly better after a round of Probiotics. But I still had flare ups..

Fast forward to this summer. I went to a foreign country and I'm pretty sure I contracted a parasite. After a few weeks of not feeling well and doctors in the states having no idea what to do, I went on a herbal cleanse. After a week, I not only felt better in my bowels, but my nausea vanished as well. And it stayed gone. I do not believe it was the cleanse itself, but the diet restrictions that I had to follow for it to work.

For a week, I had absolutely zero sugar. No candy, salad dressing, sauces, condiments, bread, milk, etc.. I just allowed a dab of honey in my morning tea. I also cut coffee and alcohol. Combined with a serious round of Probiotics,i think that I gave my system a hard reset. The nausea begins to return when I eat too much sugary foods. Looking back to high school, literally everything I ate was full of sugar.

I hope this helps someone. I felt like I was crazy for years just like all of you.

This sounds like it could be it. I eat a LOT of junk food. I eat absolutely nothing healthy. Thank you so much for the feedback!

It's extremely hard to cut the cravings. Most of my meals now are veggies, eggs, beans and rice based. However, I will have oatmeal with fresh fruit as a treat, or no sugar added peanut butter, and almonds. For extreme cravings, suck on a piece of super dark chocolate. Hope this helps!

    Hello,

I understand exactly what you are going through, for me I wake up in the middle of the night with a large lump in my throat and mass amount of saliva pooling in my mouth, I'll try to go vomit thinking that will help however rarely does anything come up. Then when I try to lay back down the saliva just keeps coming and I feel like I'm going to be sick. I'll end up running to the bathroom thinking I'm going to be sick everywhere. This has been going on for approximately 14 years now since I was 10 years old.

I have gone through scans, endoscopies, colonoscopies, biopsies, numerous doctors appointments, just to have the doctors basically tell me I'm crazy. Still have no idea what causes it for me all I know is I live in constant fear of it.

I go for days on end feeling nauseous, dealing with pains in my stomach and I have no idea why this is happening to me.

    sad

I was in the EXACT situation like you my senior year (couple months ago until I graduated). It was always in the morning and whenever I was out of the house. From reading all these comments, there hasn't been a solution. I've been taking Lexapro and it sorta helps but it doesn't go away. My doctors think it's anxiety. But what really makes these symptoms worse is when I sleep really late. I've been leaving work early too whenever I'm getting it.
