Hi, I'm new here. I tested positive for ebv in April this year. I was wondering about lymph node pain. It first started in my neck, chest and now I'm also having pains in my stomach and right above my hip bones. It almost feels like I have painful knots and I can feel them when I sit or bend certain ways and it hurts. It scares me. I keep reading of people having painful lymph nodes in their necks and armpit areas, but I haven't seen people complaining about the areas I am currently having the pain. I have a dr appointment in a couple of weeks, but I'm concerned about the pain. I've also been having anxiety and fatigue. The dr that diagnosed me said its reactive mono but I cant remember ever dealing with symptoms like this. I really just want this to go away and I'm really tired of worrying about the symptoms and pain I feel because it stresses me out. Reading all of your comments eases my mind a little. Thank you

It’s a good thing you’ve come to this forum, I know it has helped and reassured many of us who are going through this nasty virus.
This virus affects everyone differently so sometimes it really is hard to pinpoint what exactly is going on with your symptoms, but rest assured having these aches and pains doesn’t sound like anything out of the ordinary to me. Many people feel stiff, have aches joints, knots, and just generally unpleasant pain. Of course, if it is bothering you do go to a doctor just to make sure.
Fortunately I have not experienced any sort of pain, but I can empathize with the anxiety and fatigue as those were my main symptoms. It seems pretty much everyone with this virus develops anxiety because of it, but it does go away eventually. Same goes for the fatigue. It can last quite a while but do not be discouraged and try not to stress. This virus just feeds off the worry and it’s so much easier to recover when you are at ease in your mind (which I know is easier said than done). Just take it slow, take care of yourself, rest, get whatever small excercise you can without tiring yourself out too much, and eat well! You WILL get better, I believe it. I have been having symptoms since around March/April as well so I know what you are going through and hope you will be up on your feet soon.

So sorry you have been unwell with mono. Really empathising having went through it many years ago. Just want to reassure that despite how horrible and overwhelming it is, it does get better and please hang in there. As the guys said the forum is great for support and words of hope and encouragement. Thinking about you and I had pain in my joints as well as fatigue and swollen lymph nodes and low grade fever as well, it was horrid thought it would never leave but God healed me. And I believe He will get you well again, take things slow and get plenty of rest. If recovery isn’t immediate don’t panic that can be normal but be assured that recovery most definitely WILL come with time. Really hoping things feel more settled soon.

Thank you. These symptoms are so weird and they come and go day after day. I started taking zyrtec daily because when I would get allergies the pain in my lymph nodes would get worse and the zyrtec seems to help with keeping the allergies to a minimum. Also the pain is at its worst around my menstrual cycle each month. I started eating more of an anti inflammatory diet and it seems to help as well. I know for sure that stress makes it worse though. Thank you for responding. It helps to know that I'm not alone.

Thank you. I really hope I see an end to this soon. I am about 5 months in and I am ready for it to be gone. I am not myself physically or mentally at all and it's really hard.

Interesting you have more trouble during your cycle, I was feeling really good until I started my cycle, then it's like I took 2 steps back in my recovery. I have some tingling in my legs and my back is sore currently. I too have a young one, a four year old. Resting is not part of her plan. I started taking olive leaf extract this morning, hoping it facilitates healing. So happy to know I'm in good company here, however it's unfortunate we all had to connect in this mannerPraying for everyone in their recovery.

Yes every month during my cycle the pain is at its worst 😓 my daughter is 3, so not much resting for me either. Let me know how the olive leaf extract works for you because I am thinking about trying natural suppressants too mainly for the pain. Good luck to all of you. I appreciate the responses very much

Oh I know after 5 months you must be so weary of this Stephanie. I remember that being a very hard phase for me too, because you have come so far and still struggling and it is easy to feel discouraged and find it hard to hang on. I just want to reassure that it does get better, for me it was 9-10 months before a major turning point happened, that doesn't mean to say it will be as long for you, everyone is different, but by far the first 5-6 months were the worst and God willing you won't have to go through anything as intense as that initial period again, even if it still takes a little time for full recovery.
Thinking about you and I do empathise as going through some physical and mental battles myself right now for others reasons. Hang in there Stephanie, trusting God that you are going to get better and make a full recovery - I truly believe that.

I wanted to follow up with the Olive Leaf Extract- I think it is working very well. I went to see a Functional Medicine Specialist, she told me to keep taking it, she also added Lysine and Monolaurin to the list. I hope you are continuing to get better.

That is really good to hear that the Olive Leaf Extract seems to be helping - I really hope that this combined with the other things given to take can be the things that really start to initiate fully recovery thanks to God.
Thinking about you and remember this virus although it can take a while to kick out completely DOES get better and hoping and praying that this is the start of a good and fully recovery for you! Hang in there Nicole, truly believing you are going to get through this and be strong and healthy again.

Thanks, Craig. Slowly but surely! I still have some aches and pains, random when I get them, they don't stick around long. Maybe its just hyper nerves, who knows. Its been 2 months this the official diagnosis. Have you ever tried Olive Leaf extract? I was also advised to add Lysine powder to my supplement list. It should arrive on Monday, so here's hoping...
Thank you for your encouragement and faith in God. I pray every night for the most powerful Physician to continue to heal us all!
