X-rays

Hi all, I've got my surgery on the 9th Feb but my X-rays are over a year old now. Does having new ones make a difference? does everyone get new X-rays before surgery?

    I had an X-ray as part of the preadmittance assessment primarily to measure for the prothesis

      Yes, that's it. the hospital were I had the op does this as routine for all patients. Interestingly there is a display near the entrance to the orthopaedic ward of  some of the different kinds of prothesis in use

      Thats different lol. It's good that it's routine to have up to date X-rays

    Hi Joanne.

    my surgery is Feb 3rd and my Xrays are 1 1/2 yrs old. I hooe it doesnt matter lol but i figured they might be xraying while we are in there.

      Hi Karen. We're both the same then lol. Mine was meant to be on the 4th of Feb but got postponed because it was an audit day. Good luck to you for the 3rd, not long to wait now. Where are you having it done?

      i am in Australia Having mine at the Mater Private in Brisbane, Qld

      i know i am so ready now. I will go for my last swim for a few weeks this morning 😀.

      I'm in the UK. I'm having it done in London, it's about 350 miles away from where I live 😊

    Hi Joanne

    My original x-ray was in May 2015 and I had another one as part of my pre-op (Oct 2015), so I would hope you will have another. 

    Best of luck - fingers (not legs) are crossed cheesygrin

      I should of mentioned it at my pre-op but I didn't think. Yes defo fingers crossed & not legs lol. Thank you 😊

      It seems that a lot of people have new ones done at pre-op, it certainly makes sense for them to do them then

      Forgot to say, preop assessment was exactly two weeks before op, then i had one the day i left hospital, got a looking good from the guys who took it.
