After H Pylori

Hi everyone,I have posted here before,I have been treated for h pylori, antibiotics and lansoprazole.Prior to treatment I had complete loss of appetite and loss of weight.Although by force feeding I am keeping my weight between 117 pounds and 118.I still have no appetite, most worrying is I am losing body fat,I am so skinny, weak, tired of fighting this, feel like giving up at times.I have a appt to see specialist but that is nearly two months away,I do not think I will make it that long.I was a size 14 now size 8-10.my skin is wrinkled,I am now just getting over vaginal thrush, but now have soreness around that area and itchy rear end.I just wonder if I might have a different infection caused by h pylori,or it has damaged my tummy so badly.I am small framed so it is very obvious of my fat loss, now wear big jumpers etc as people ask what is wrong with me all the time, has anyone ever experienced this? I would be so greatfull for any advice .Thank you.

JPT • 7 months agoHi Tickled or should I say tortured?
You have been through the mill.
just sent you a private mail with my email address.
will send my notes as soon as you reply with yours.
The HH you have if it is not too big will be fixed with sutures during any surgery you choose.
I think your reference to mucus is the natural body responsew to the attack from all refluxate products.
Acid,Pepsin, Bile salts , food, etc.
The oesophagus can cope with some insult as it produces bicarbonate to deal with some relux.
PS. Everyone refluxes several times a day. We just do it more often and to a higher level.
Having low saliva production is a good reason for the insult to be much worse in your case.
The overview I have for you is that the solution is multi -faceted.
No one thing will fix it completely.
Its certainly worth trying all the beneficial add-ons before you jump to surgery
and even then its worth changing lots of lifestyle things at the same time.
1 Try to eat your last meal of the day at least 3 hours before retiring to bed.
2 Try eating smaller portions at regular intervals rather fewer larger meals.
3 Eat slowly.
4 Wear loose-fitting clothes. A tight belt will trigger reflux
5 Avoid foods and drinks that are known to trigger heartburn symptoms, these include:
onions, peppermint, chocolate, caffeinated drinks, citrus fruits and juices, tomatoes and
high-fat foods.
6 Keep a symptom diary and record when your symptoms appear and what specific
meals and activities this relates to.
7 Maintain a healthy weight. Keep your BMI in the normal range.
8 Stop smoking.
9 Learn how to breath using the diaphragm it tones the LES
10 Avoid alcohol.
11 Take regular gentle exercise such as walking. Avoid lifting weights.
12 Exercise can trigger Reflux symptoms if this is a problem wait at least two hours after
a meal before exercising.
13 Drink plenty of water.
14 Use PH 8.0+ alkaline water to denature Pepsin in the mouth, airways and oesophagus. Take a peptest to see what levels you are refluxing and retest to see how the levels have come down after these changes.
15 Raise the head of your bed so that your head and chest are higher than your feet.
16 Sleep on your left side, because of the shape of the stomach reflux happens less often in this position.
17 Increase the speed of transition through the stomach with something like Fybogel'
18 The pyloric sphincter at the stomach exit needs magnesium and acid to make it work. PPI stops the absorption of M and reduces acid and so is counter productive. Get off PPI and take Magnesium supplements.
19 Use deglycyrrhizinated licorice, or DGL. But be aware too much can cause ankle swelling and hypertention.
20 Use Probiotics to help positve gut flora aid digestion. Antibiotics kill all flora not just Hpylori.
Best Regards JPT

Just experienced the same symptoms, however, it was not the H-Pylori that was at work; it was AL AMYLOIDOSIS. AL is a autoimmune disease from your bone marrow. The B2 plasma cells produce proteins that misfold, then aggregate, then deposit these agreggates throughout your organs. I received a stem cell transplant, and now I'm completely well again.
Recommendation:
1) Have your doctor order an "Electro Phoresis Blood test" to see if your
"Lambda:Kappa ratios are within normal parameters:
2) A "Belly Flap Fat Biopsy" can be sent to the Mayo Clinic to determine the presence of Amyloids. They will stain the slides with "Congo Red Dye" which will show up as Apple Green Birefringence under a polarized light during a microscope observation.
3) A 24 Hour urine test for the presence of proteins.
AT LEAST RULE IT OUT. There are 5 different kinds of AMYLOIDOSIS, one type, Secondary AMYLOIDOSIS, can develop after an infection such as H-Pylori. DONT WASTE TIME, IT WILL TAKE YOUR LIFE IF UNTREATED WITHIN 3-5 years.

Razielmcallen - I know it's been a while since your post but my symptoms are exactly like yours plus a few more. I have been researching constantly. Had H Pylori ended up with thrush etc etc. taking candida powder plus the diet. Now suspected autoimmune due to ulcers.... just wondering if you found a resolution. Thanks!

They deleted my comment. But i got over my h pylori. I had put what I used. It was 2 rounds of anti biotics from the doctor. But in between I read online and used coconut oil and mastic gum.
I'm so sorry to hear tht Tasha. But i dont think h pylori do that. I feel it's something else.

a full CT scan could look for anything else.
Like they missed my kidney stone with the ultrasound and I switched doctors and he did a CT and tht showed it. Then I redid an ultrasound by a next place and they saw it.
So it all depends on the personnel .
If u can afford it, get some tests done elsewhere..blood work and urine micro analysis
