Pressure in head within nose cavity

I have had this pressure that eminates from the sinus or cavities behind the nose for about 4 months now. It started gradually and now is a constant pressure that causes lightheadindness / dizziness and headaches. it gets worse when I move or do anything physical, especially when I move my head down. I know it is trapped air that is causing the problem, it's as if i have sinusitus and i'm on a plan. Popping my ears helps reduce the pressure for a few minutes but it tends to build back up again. 4 weeks ago whilst feeling particularly pressurised I popped my ears whilst yawning and pulling my left ear, what happened next doctors have a hard time believing. Loads of air came out of my left ear, as if like sticking a nail in a bike tire. This lasted for between 20-30 seconds. afterwards, I felt great, no head pressure, no headaches, no dizziness. I think this could well be a breakthrough for a lot of head pressure cases I read on the net. For that day I had my life back, sadly the next day it just seemed to build up again. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be much research out there on this and it is very hard to live with it. I would say its like a constant uncomfortableness and pain about 3/4 out of 10. When moving this increases and I have had some really bad 10 out of 10 headaches. i'm interested in other people who have experienced similar sympotoms and what the outcome was. This does seem curable, but ENTs don't seem to know anything about it. I'm positive this can get resolved in the future but its up to people who are suffering with this to get this condition out there and into public knowledge.

Do you have actual congestion with fluid ,etc? Or is just a feeling of congestion and pressure? If it is just a feeling of pressure and such ask for xrays of the sinuses and see what comes up.....I was suffering and finally an ENT referred me to a Neurologist and it ended up being a form of Migraine even though it wasn't a headache! Weird!

its do weird. i have ear pressure, facial tension and a swollen head feeling that constantly moves around my head. the pressure is so tight near my forehead that sometimes it makes me feel like passing out.

i suffered from migraines in high school but this feels totally different. Any idea if these supposed "ear" and "sinus" infection is causing an atypical type of migraine that just wont go away?

its been 1 month and a half already

Yeah, mine can last for weeks. It is a type of migraine. Have you had anything happen before it started- a virus, cold, flu, throwing up, flying, anything? Mine is caused by vestibular nerve damage which is a nerve between your inner ear and brain stem. It is right next to the facial nerve so now I get weird migraines. Sudafed and excedrin help but I bought a tool called zuk that is used for migraines. It helped in the beginning a lot but not so much now. If you buy one, search for a coupon code it'll be cheaper.

      very interesting.

did you have any nerve imbalance though? what i mean is did you ever have throbbing fingers or numbness in your feet leg area?

i have that in certain positions and when i apply pressure on my occipital nerve on my neck and temple, my hands and legs nerves react.

it honestly feels like i have fluid or air pressing against my brain. you get that type of head pain? what is zuk?

I get pressure in head and fizzing up the nose, brain fog too. Seen Ent specialist who say it is chronic rhinitis and have no signs of sinus disease but I'm still suffering. They cannot help me so what do we do next!

i have had the same symptoms you all describe and more. its so annoying going to the hospital and them not doing anything about it. other symptoms i have are

    1. feel like something is pinched in my back, just behind the shoulder area
    2. certain movements make me get a nerve like pain on my neck
    3. terrible migraine at the back of my head, specifically behind the ears, just constant radiating pain.

if anyone can help, i would appreciate it!

i have been dealing with this for about 3 years now pressure in my inner ears, forehead, and nasal passages some days it is unbearable and others not too bad, but it is always there. i must pop my ears 1000 times a day for momentary relief but the pressure always comes back. some days my entire focus is on keeping the pressure down where i dont even want to talk to people

ive taken antibiotics, steroids, ct scan, tubes in my ears and nothing. this is almost making me manic

ive been searching and searching the web with no avail at all.. im not sure if this is relevent here but ive been experiencing a pain in my left head just above the temple which worsens when i breathe through the left nostril, is this something any of you have also experienced? ive been told by gp it could be a possible sinus infection but i have no congestion or mucus

sinus infection or sinisitus doesn't necessarily requires for you to have a congestion or mucus.

GP could be right. I would highly recommended a full sinus CT scan to confirm it.

      good luck.

has anyone on here been able to find a resolution for this? i am desperate for some help. ive been to the doctor several tomes and also the hospital with regards to the feeling of intense pressure in my head like its exploding..also a burning and tingly sensation. recently ive had the sinus/flu like symptoms which caused a significant increase in post nasal drip and so i was taking anti histamines and decongestant (allegra d) twice dailiy for about two weeks but the nasal drip was adamant and somehow my blood pressure sky rocketed...i felt faint and light headed and my head felt awefully tight..i took meds to reduce the blood pressure and my blood pressure has decreased but the nerve tension and tingly feeling with lightheadedness still surface... my nose also constantly pops along with my ears...sometimes when i bend over its like i hear a gush of ear come out of my ears...the nerves in my neck also tends to feel tight and theres also a dread that passes through my body when the head pressure arise...so far valium has seemed to help ( i think to relax the nerves ) but i was only taking it for five day. ive requested more from the doctor but really wanna get to the root of the problem because its a very scary and troublesome experience.. he thinks its anxiety but i dont feel stressed and the physical manifestations and so real that i think there may be an underlying cause. please help if you can. i appreciate greatly.

Has anyone received any recent news or diagnosis involving these symptoms? Two weeks ago I woke up to this intense feeling of pressure in my head, especially in the bridge of my nose area. I also have terrible pressure in my ears. The pressure feeling moves around when I do and sometimes when laying a certain way, my sinuses make popping sounds and it literally feels like my sinus cavity is depressurizing. It always comes back though and gives me terrible dizzy spells, eye pain, and brain fog. My forehead feels so tight some days, it feels like my head is going to explode. I don't have nasal congestion but I do have constant post nasal drip. I just wish i could get this pressure or stuck air or whatever it is to go away.
