Fli-1 proto-oncogene, ETS transcription factor

The FLI1 gene provides instructions for making the FLI protein, which controls the activity (transcription) of genes. Transcription is the first step in the process of producing proteins. The FLI protein is part of a group of related proteins, called the Ets family of transcription factors, that control transcription. The FLI protein attaches (binds) to certain regions of DNA and turns on (activates) the transcription of nearby genes. The proteins produced from these genes control many important cellular processes, such as cell growth and division (proliferation), maturation (differentiation), and survival. The FLI protein is found primarily in blood cells and is thought to regulate their development.

Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia

The immature cells are called lymphoblasts. There are various subtypes of ALL. For example, the abnormal lymphoblasts can be immature B or T lymphocytes. The abnormal lymphoblasts continue to divide and multiply but do not mature into proper lymphocytes. Typically, ALL develops quite quickly (acutely) and rapidly becomes worse (over a few weeks or.

6-in-1 vaccine

The 6-in-1 vaccine is part of routine childhood immunisations and protects babies against six different serious illnesses. Three doses are given. Further boosters without all six components are given at other times later in childhood and in adult life. The 6-in-1 vaccine used to be given as the 3-in-1 vaccine DTaP along with the polio vaccine.

Blood clotting tests

Blood clotting tests are used to diagnose and assess bleeding problems and to monitor people who take warfarin or other anticoagulant medicines. You may be advised to have blood clotting tests: If you have a suspected bleeding disorder. For example, if you bleed a lot after cuts, or if you bruise easily. If you have certain liver diseases that can.

Causes of cancer

Certain risk factors are known to increase the chance that one or more of your cells will become abnormal and lead to cancer. How does cancer start. The body is made up from millions of tiny cells. Different parts of the body such as organs, bones, muscles, skin and blood are made up from different specialised cells. Most cells have a centre.

Can I take Apixaban and Rybelsus together?

These two medicines work in different ways and do not typically interfere with how the other is absorbed, broken down, or removed from the body. Why this happens Apixaban is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that works by blocking a clotting factor called Factor Xa. Rybelsus is a GLP-1 receptor agonist used for type 2 diabetes that mimics a natural.
