This refreshing basil-fennel soda is a sophisticated choice for those seeking a complex, low-sugar beverage. The aromatic combination of peppery basil and anise-scented fennel creates a botanical base that feels grown-up and refined, far removed from overly sweet fizzy drinks. Sharp lemon and lime juices provide a bright acidity that cuts through the herbal notes, resulting in a beautifully balanced palate cleanser that is perfect for summer afternoons.
As a versatile non-alcoholic option, this drink fits perfectly into a healthy lifestyle without compromising on flavour. The use of fresh herbs and citrus makes it a vibrant addition to any garden party or a quiet evening at home. For the best results, use chilled soda water to maintain the effervescence and serve in a tall glass with plenty of crushed ice to keep the botanicals crisp and cool.
