Taking amlodipine and Nustendi (ezetimibe) together can increase the amount of one of the ingredients in Nustendi (bempedoic acid) in your bloodstream. This may increase the risk of side effects from Nustendi, such as high levels of uric acid in the blood (which can cause gout) or, in rare cases, tendon problems.
Why this happens
Amlodipine can slightly interfere with the way the body processes bempedoic acid (a component of Nustendi), leading to higher levels of the medication staying in your system for longer.
What you should do
It is generally safe to take these together, but your doctor should be aware. They may want to monitor your uric acid levels more closely or check for any signs of muscle or tendon pain. If you experience any unusual joint pain or swelling, contact your doctor.
Important precautions
Pregnancy
You must not take Nustendi if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must use effective contraception while taking it. Stop taking it immediately and tell your doctor if you become pregnant.
Gout
Nustendi can increase the levels of uric acid in your blood, which may cause gout. Tell your doctor if you have ever had gout or if you develop painful, swollen joints.
Food and drink warnings
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice
Grapefruit can increase the amount of amlodipine in your blood, which may cause your blood pressure to drop too low and increase the risk of side effects like headaches or swollen ankles. Avoid consuming large amounts of grapefruit or its juice while taking this medicine.
Alcohol
While there is no direct interaction, alcohol can lower your blood pressure. Combining it with amlodipine may make you feel dizzy or lightheaded. Additionally, both Nustendi and heavy alcohol use can affect your liver; it is best to keep your intake within the recommended limits (14 units per week).

Can I take Flecainide and Wegovy together?
Wegovy (semaglutide) can slow down how quickly your stomach empties. This might change how your body absorbs flecainide, which is a medicine that needs to be kept at very specific levels in your blood to work safely and effectively. Additionally, both medications can occasionally affect your heart rhythm or heart rate.

Can I take Maitake and Turkey tail together?
There are no known harmful interactions between maitake and turkey tail mushrooms. Both are medicinal fungi that are often taken together to support the immune system. However, because both can stimulate the immune system, there is a theoretical possibility of an additive effect.
