recombination activating 2

The RAG2 gene provides instructions for making a member of a group of proteins called the RAG complex. This complex is active in immune system cells (lymphocytes) called B cells and T cells. These cells have special proteins on their surface that recognise foreign invaders and help protect the body from infection. These proteins need to be diverse to be able to recognise a wide variety of substances. The genes from which these proteins are made contain segments known as variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) segments. During protein production within lymphocytes, these gene segments are rearranged in different combinations to increase variability of the resulting proteins. The RAG complex is involved in this process, which is known as V(D)J recombination.

Normal function

During V(D)J recombination, the RAG complex attaches (binds) to a section of DNA called a recombination signal sequence (RSS), which is next to a V, D, or J segment. The RAG complex makes small cuts in the DNA between the segment and the RSS so the segment can be separated and moved to a different area in the gene. This process of DNA rearrangement within B cells and T cells is repeated multiple times in different areas so that the V, D, and J segments are arranged in various combinations. The variety of proteins produced throughout life following V(D)J recombination provides greater recognition of foreign invaders and allows the body to fight infection efficiently.

Anticoagulants

Patient information leaflet

Anticoagulants

Anticoagulants are medicines that prevent the blood from clotting as quickly or as effectively as normal. Some people call anticoagulants blood thinners. However, the blood is not actually made any thinner - it just does not clot so easily whilst you take an anticoagulant. Anticoagulants are used to treat and prevent blood clots forming in blood.

Blood clotting tests

Patient information leaflet

Blood clotting tests

Blood clotting tests are used to diagnose and assess bleeding problems and to monitor people who take warfarin or other anticoagulant medicines. You may be advised to have blood clotting tests: If you have a suspected bleeding disorder. For example, if you bleed a lot after cuts, or if you bruise easily. If you have certain liver diseases that can.

Can I take Royal sun and Turkey tail together?

Both Royal Sun (Agaricus blazei) and Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) are medicinal mushrooms that can stimulate the immune system. Taking them together may lead to an overactive immune response. Additionally, both may have mild blood-thinning effects and could lower blood sugar levels. Why this happens These mushrooms contain beta-glucans which.

Can I take Clopidogrel and Gabapentin together?

There are no known significant interactions between clopidogrel and gabapentin. It is generally conside... Why this happens Clopidogrel and gabapentin are processed by the body using different pathways. Clopidogrel is activated by liver enzymes (specifically CYP2C19), while gabapentin is not processed by the liver at all and is removed from the.

Why this happens Both maitake (Grifola frondosa) and turkey tail (Trametes versicolor) contain complex sugars called beta-glucans. These compounds work in a similar way by activating certain immune cells (like natural killer cells and.
