Spicy Spaghetti with Fennel and Herbs

This spicy spaghetti with fennel and herbs is a sophisticated high-protein meal that balances punchy flavours with fresh, aromatic notes. The slow-cooked fennel becomes beautifully tender and sweet, providing a delicate contrast to the salty crunch of golden pancetta and the heat of red chillies. It is a wonderful way to use seasonal fennel bulbs, creating a fragrant sauce that clings perfectly to the pasta strands.

Ideal for a satisfying weeknight dinner or a relaxed weekend lunch, this dish feels elegant yet is remarkably simple to prepare. The addition of zesty lemon and plenty of Pecorino cheese adds a savoury depth that complements the aniseed notes of the fennel seeds. Serve it immediately in warmed bowls for a comforting homemade meal that is both nutritious and full of Mediterranean character.
