This charred tomato salsa is a vibrant, smoky addition to any Mexican-inspired feast or casual gathering. By pan-searing the plum tomatoes until they blister and caramelise, you unlock a deep, savoury sweetness that shop-bought versions simply cannot match. Fresh lime juice and fragrant coriander provide a sharp, herbaceous lift, while a single serrano chilli adds a gentle, warming heat that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
As a versatile vegan dip, this homemade salsa is perfect for sharing with friends alongside crunchy tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled vegetables and tacos. It is naturally healthy and low in fat, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a nutritious, flavour-packed condiment. You can even prepare it two days in advance, allowing the flavours to develop further in the fridge.
