Can I take Lercanidipine and Levothyroxine 25 together?

There is no known direct interaction between lercanidipine and levothyroxine. Taking these two medicines together is generally considered safe and they do not interfere with how each other works in the body.

Why this happens

Lercanidipine is a calcium channel blocker used for high blood pressure, and levothyroxine is a hormone replacement for an underactive thyroid. They are processed by different pathways in the liver and do not compete for absorption or excretion.

What you should do

You can continue to take both medicines as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually best to take levothyroxine on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning, at least 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast or taking other medications like lercanidipine, to ensure it is absorbed properly.
