Taking alcohol and alprazolam together is very dangerous. It can make you extremely drowsy, cause severe breathing problems, and may lead to a coma or death. It also significantly impairs your coordination and judgement.

Why this happens

Both alcohol and alprazolam are 'central nervous system depressants'. This means they both slow down the brain and body. When taken together, they don't just add their effects; they multiply them, making the sedative effect much stronger and more unpredictable.

You must not drink any alcohol while taking alprazolam. If you have already combined them and feel very sleepy, have trouble breathing, or feel faint, seek emergency medical help immediately. Do not drive or operate machinery if you have consumed both.
