Why this happens

Timolol is a beta-blocker that can be absorbed into the bloodstream from the eye. Both alcohol and timolol can lower blood pressure and slow the heart rate. Additionally, dorzolamide and alcohol are both processed by the liver, and combining them can increase the workload on this organ.

It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while using these eye drops. If you feel dizzy or faint, sit or lie down immediately and do not drive or operate machinery.
