There is no known direct interaction between 5-HTP and sitagliptin. However, 5-HTP can occasionally affect blood sugar levels, which may interfere with how well sitagliptin manages your diabetes.

Why this happens
Sitagliptin works by increasing insulin levels and decreasing glucagon levels to lower blood sugar. 5-HTP is a precursor to serotonin; while its primary effect is on mood, some studies suggest serotonin pathways can influence glucose metabolism. This could theoretically lead to unpredictable changes in blood sugar control.
