Can I take Abilify and Cimzia together?

Why this happens

Cimzia is a biologic medicine that suppresses part of your immune system to treat inflammatory conditions. Abilify, while primarily used for mental health, can occasionally cause a drop in white blood cells (the cells that fight infection). Taking both together may further weaken your body's ability to fight off germs or lead to a significant decrease in protective blood cells.

You should speak to your doctor before using these medicines together. If you are prescribed both, your doctor will likely monitor your blood counts regularly. Seek medical help immediately if you develop signs of an infection, such as a fever, chills, sore throat, or unusual tiredness.
