Why this happens

Both medicines contain ingredients that affect the central nervous system. Allerwel AM contains Levocetirizine (an antihistamine) and Ambroxol (a mucus thinner). Rapitus Syrup contains Levodropropizine (a cough suppressant). Both the antihistamine and the cough suppressant can cause drowsiness; when taken together, this effect is 'doubled up' or intensified.

Use this combination with caution. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery, or perform tasks that require full alertness until you know how these medicines affect you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking these treatments, as it will make the sleepiness much worse. If you feel excessively drowsy or have difficulty breathing, contact your doctor.
