Taking these two medicines together can cause your blood pressure to drop too low, especially when you stand up. This can make you feel very dizzy, lightheaded, or even cause you to faint. You may also feel more sleepy or drowsy than usual.

Why this happens
Both medicines have the effect of relaxing your blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. When used together, this effect is 'additive' (they add together to become stronger). Additionally, both drugs can cause drowsiness, which is increased when they are combined.
What you should do

If you are already taking both, be very careful when moving from a lying or sitting position to standing up—do it slowly to avoid dizziness. It is best to take these medicines at bedtime. Avoid driving or using machinery until you know how this combination affects you. If you feel very dizzy or faint, contact your doctor.
