Taking amlodipine and Nustendi together can increase the amount of one of the ingredients in Nustendi (bempedoic acid) in your bloodstream. This may increase the risk of side effects from Nustendi, such as high levels of uric acid in the blood (which can cause gout) or, in rare cases, tendon problems.

Why this happens
Amlodipine can slightly interfere with the way the body processes bempedoic acid (a component of Nustendi), leading to higher levels of the medication staying in your system for longer.
What you should do
It is generally safe to take these together, but your doctor should be aware. They may want to monitor your uric acid levels more closely or check for any signs of muscle or tendon pain. If you experience any unusual joint pain or swelling, contact your doctor.
