Why this happens
Berberine can interfere with certain transport proteins (like P-glycoprotein) that help move famotidine out of the body, leading to higher levels in the blood. Conversely, berberine has been shown in some studies to stimulate gastric acid secretion, which works against the acid-blocking purpose of famotidine.
What you should do
