Why this happens
Doxycycline is an antibiotic, and loratadine is a non-drowsy antihistamine. They are processed by different pathways in the body and do not interfere with how the other drug works, nor do they increase the risk of side effects when combined.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou can take both medications as prescribed. However, always remember to take doxycycline with a full glass of water and stay upright for at least 30 minutes afterwards to avoid irritating your food pipe (oesophagus). If you notice any unusual symptoms, consult your pharmacist or doctor.
