Why this happens

Eplerenone is a 'potassium-sparing' diuretic that prevents the body from getting rid of potassium. Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is an SGLT2 inhibitor that can also affect fluid balance and, in some cases, increase potassium levels. Together, their effects on your kidneys can lead to a buildup of potassium and a greater loss of body fluids.

You must have regular blood tests to monitor your potassium levels and kidney function while taking this combination. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience muscle weakness, an irregular heartbeat, or severe dizziness. Ensure you stay well-hydrated.
