Why this happens

Fluvoxamine is an antidepressant (SSRI) primarily processed by certain liver enzymes (CYP1A2 and CYP2C19). Panadol (paracetamol) is processed by different pathways in the liver. Because they do not compete for the same 'processing machinery' and do not have overlapping side effects, they do not interfere with each other.

You can take Panadol while taking fluvoxamine. Always follow the dosage instructions on the Panadol packaging (usually no more than eight 500mg tablets in 24 hours). If you have any pre-existing liver problems, consult your doctor before taking paracetamol.
