Why this happens
Both medicines work to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow, but in different ways. Isosorbide mononitrate (a nitrate) relaxes and widens your blood vessels, while nebivolol (a beta-blocker) slows your heart rate and reduces the force of your heartbeat. When used together, their effects add up, which can lead to an exaggerated drop in blood pressure.
