There is no known interaction between lercanidipine and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). It is generally safe to take these two together.
Why this happens
Lercanidipine is a calcium channel blocker used for high blood pressure, and vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium for bone health. While they both involve calcium pathways, they work in different ways and do not interfere with each other's absorption or breakdown in the body.
What you should do
You can continue taking both as prescribed. It is always a good idea to inform your doctor or pharmacist of all supplements you are taking, but no special precautions are needed for this combination.
Important precautions
Severe liver or kidney disease
Lercanidipine is not recommended if you have severe liver or kidney problems. Ensure your doctor is aware of your condition before starting treatment.
Hypercalcaemia (high blood calcium levels)
Do not take vitamin D3 if you have high levels of calcium in your blood or urine, as this supplement will further increase these levels and may cause kidney damage.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking lercanidipine. Alcohol can increase the blood-pressure-lowering effect of the medicine, which may make you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or faint.
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice
You must not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking lercanidipine. Grapefruit can significantly increase the amount of the medicine in your blood, making side effects like dizziness, headaches, and a fast heartbeat much more likely.
High-fat meals
Lercanidipine should be taken at least 15 minutes before a meal. Taking it with or immediately after a high-fat meal can significantly increase the amount of medicine absorbed by your body, which may lead to more side effects.
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. It is best absorbed by your body when taken with a meal that contains some fat (such as eggs, avocado, nuts, or dairy).

Can I take Mounjaro and Paracetamol together?
Mounjaro may slow down how quickly your body absorbs paracetamol. This means it might take longer for the paracetamol to start working to relieve pain or reduce a fever. However, the total amount of medicine that gets into your system should remain the same.
