This fragrant orange chicken is a bright and zesty high-protein dish that brings a burst of citrus to the dinner table. By marinating the chicken in a blend of fresh orange juice, honey, and savoury soy sauce, the meat stays incredibly tender while developing a sticky, golden glaze in the oven. The addition of garlic and a hint of red pepper flakes provides a subtle warmth that perfectly balances the sweetness of the fruit.
Ideal for a nutritious mid-week meal or a relaxed weekend lunch, this recipe is both wholesome and satisfying. Serving the glazed chicken over a bed of creamy spring onion mashed potatoes adds a lovely texture and a fresh, peppery finish. It is a fantastic way to enjoy a homemade, citrus-infused roast that feels special without requiring complex techniques.
