Sophisto Joes

This sophisticated take on a classic comfort food favourite elevates the traditional minced beef roll into a rich, flavourful meal. By incorporating dry red wine, aromatic cumin and a base of finely diced mirepoix vegetables, these Sophisto Joes offer a depth of flavour that far surpasses the standard version. The beef mince provides a substantial hit of protein, while the hint of brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce creates a perfectly balanced savoury-sweet profile that the whole family will enjoy.

As a high-protein dinner option, this dish is ideal for those looking for a satisfying, muscle-repairing meal after a busy day. The vegetable-heavy base adds essential nutrients and texture, making it a well-rounded alternative to typical fast food. Serve these hearty, saucy helpings inside toasted kaiser rolls for a casual weekend lunch or a quick midweek supper that feels a little bit more special.
