Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

These garlic cheddar biscuits are the ultimate comforting side dish, offering a wonderful balance of sharp cheese and aromatic garlic. With their golden, craggy tops and light, tender crumb, they make a delicious addition to a midweek meal or a quick weekend snack. The combination of buttermilk and shortening ensures a melt-in-the-mouth texture that pairs perfectly with a warming bowl of vegetable soup or a hearty beef stew.

As a versatile savoury bake, these biscuits are surprisingly quick to prepare and require no rolling or cutting. Simply drop the dough onto a baking tray and let the oven do the work. They are best enjoyed warm from the oven when the cheddar is at its most flavourful, making them an excellent choice for family gatherings or casual entertaining.
