Spicy Honey-Glazed Parsnips

This recipe for spicy honey-glazed parsnips offers a vibrant twist on a classic British side dish. By roasting the parsnips at a high temperature, they develop a wonderful caramelised exterior while remaining tender in the centre. The addition of a sweet and tangy glaze, infused with dried chillies and apple cider vinegar, perfectly balances the natural earthy sweetness of the root vegetable, providing a subtle heat that elevates the entire dish.

These vegetarian parsnips are an excellent accompaniment to a traditional Sunday roast or as a festive addition to a Christmas spread. They are incredibly simple to prepare, requiring just a handful of larder staples to transform a humble vegetable into a standout accompaniment. For the best results, ensure the parsnips are cut into uniform lengths to guarantee even cooking and maximum crispness.
