MindEd provides free mental health e-learning for anyone who works or volunteers with children, teenagers or young people. The MindEd programme includes free online CAMHS training, counselling courses and mental health resources for teachers and health professionals.

This session looks at family relationship problems and the impact of domestic violence on children. It also covers the effects of divorce on children and offers different ways of helping children through their parents' divorce process.

  • It is important to consider the impact of domestic violence on children.
  • Children can show their distress in many different ways
  • Some children are less resilient than others and will be affected to a greater extent.
  • It is useful to consider the effects of divorce on children.
  • It is important not to blame the parents and to be skilful in working together with them.
  • There are many ways in which family and others can help children and young people cope.
  • It is important to know when to be especially concerned and help the family seek further help.
