Omeprazole can significantly reduce the amount of 100 (posaconazole) that your body absorbs. This means the antifungal medicine may not work well enough to treat or prevent your infection.

Why this happens

Posaconazole (100) needs a highly acidic environment in the stomach to dissolve properly so it can be absorbed into the bloodstream. Omeprazole works by reducing stomach acid, which prevents the posaconazole from dissolving and entering your system.

You should avoid taking omeprazole while you are taking posaconazole (100) tablets or oral suspension. If you need treatment for acid reflux, speak to your doctor; they may suggest an alternative or monitor you very closely. Do not stop taking your prescribed medicines without consulting your healthcare provider first.
