Why this happens

Both patches contain the same active ingredient (buprenorphine), which is an opioid painkiller. Using a 15 microgram/hour patch and a 20 microgram/hour patch together creates a total dose of 35 micrograms/hour. This may be higher than the dose your doctor intended for you.

Do not apply both patches at once unless specifically instructed to do so by your doctor or pain specialist. If you have already applied both and feel unusually sleepy, dizzy, or have trouble breathing, remove the patches immediately and seek emergency medical help. Always follow the specific dosage prescribed on your dispensing label.
