Why this happens
Both alcohol and pizotifen act as central nervous system depressants. This means they both slow down brain activity. When taken together, their effects add up, making the sedative (sleepy) effect much stronger than if you took either one alone.
What you should do

Because pizotifen is often used to prevent migraines, you should also be aware that alcohol is a common trigger for migraine attacks. Do not drive or operate machinery if you have consumed alcohol while taking this medication.
