There are no known direct drug-drug interactions between paracetamol (acetaminophen) and sarcosine. However, both substances are processed by the liver, and taking them together could theoretically place extra strain on liver function if taken in high doses.

Why this happens
Paracetamol is primarily broken down by the liver. Sarcosine is an amino acid derivative that is also metabolised in the liver and kidneys. While they do not use the same specific chemical pathways, taking multiple supplements or medications simultaneously requires the liver to work harder to clear them from your system.
What you should do
Back to contentsIt is generally considered safe to take these together at recommended doses. However, you should never exceed the maximum daily dose of paracetamol (4g in 24 hours for adults). It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol when taking paracetamol, as combining them increases the risk of liver damage.
