Can I take Adcal d3 and Amlodipine together?

Why this happens

Amlodipine is a 'calcium channel blocker'. It works by blocking calcium from entering the muscle cells of your heart and blood vessels, which helps them relax and lowers blood pressure. Because Adcal-D3 increases the amount of calcium in your body, it can theoretically 'oppose' the effect of the medicine, making it slightly less effective.

You can usually take these medicines together, but you should monitor your blood pressure regularly. If you notice your blood pressure readings are consistently high, or if you feel symptoms like headaches or dizziness, speak to your GP. They may want to adjust your dose or check your blood calcium levels.
