Why this happens

Ashwagandha is thought to have 'pro-oestrogenic' properties, meaning it may stimulate oestrogen receptors or increase the production of precursors to oestrogen. When used with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) like Oestrogel, this could lead to an additive effect, resulting in higher-than-normal oestrogen activity.

What you should do

You should consult your doctor or a pharmacist before combining ashwagandha with Oestrogel. If you decide to use both, monitor yourself closely for signs of too much oestrogen, such as breast tenderness, bloating, headaches, or mood swings. Your doctor may need to monitor your hormone levels more frequently.
