There is no known interaction between Avastin (bevacizumab) and Hard (a brand of energy drink containing caffeine and taurine). However, the ingredients in energy drinks can sometimes worsen certain side effects of Avastin.

Why this happens
Avastin is a monoclonal antibody that works by blocking blood vessel growth. Energy drinks like 'Hard' contain high levels of caffeine, which can increase blood pressure and heart rate. Since Avastin is known to cause high blood pressure (hypertension) as a common side effect, consuming high-caffeine drinks may make blood pressure management more difficult.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou can generally use these together, but you should monitor your blood pressure regularly. If you notice your blood pressure rising, or if you experience headaches or palpitations, it is best to limit energy drinks and speak with your oncology team.
