There are no known significant interactions between colecalciferol (Vitamin D3) and doxazosin. It is generally safe to take these two medications together.
Why this happens
Colecalciferol is a vitamin used to maintain calcium levels and bone health, while doxazosin is an alpha-blocker used to treat high blood pressure or an enlarged prostate. They are processed by different pathways in the body and do not interfere with each other's effectiveness or safety.
What you should do
You can continue to take both medications as prescribed by your doctor. No special precautions or monitoring are required specifically for this combination.
Important precautions
First-dose hypotension
Doxazosin can cause a sudden, large drop in blood pressure when you first start taking it or when the dose is increased. This can make you feel very dizzy or faint. Take your first dose at bedtime and be careful when getting out of bed.
Hypercalcaemia (high blood calcium)
Do not take colecalciferol if you have high levels of calcium in your blood or urine, or if you have severe kidney stones, as vitamin D increases calcium absorption and can worsen these conditions.
Cataract surgery (Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome)
If you are planning to have eye surgery for cataracts, you must tell your eye surgeon that you are taking or have previously taken doxazosin. It can cause the iris to become 'floppy' during the procedure, which may lead to complications unless the surgeon is prepared.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking colecalciferol. Long-term heavy alcohol use can interfere with how your body absorbs and processes Vitamin D, making the treatment less effective.
It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking doxazosin. Doxazosin lowers your blood pressure, and alcohol can increase this effect, making you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or faint, especially when standing up.
High-fat meals
Colecalciferol is a fat-soluble vitamin. It is best absorbed by your body when taken with a meal that contains some fat (such as eggs, avocado, nuts, or dairy).

Can I take Mounjaro and Paracetamol together?
