Why this happens

Creon 25000 contains digestive enzymes (pancreatin) that work locally in the gut to help break down food. Lixiana (edoxaban) is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that is absorbed into the bloodstream to prevent blood clots. These medications do not interfere with how the other is absorbed, broken down by the liver, or removed from the body.

What you should do

You can continue to take both medications as prescribed by your doctor. Always take Creon with a meal or snack to ensure it works correctly. If you notice any unusual bruising or bleeding (which can be a side effect of Lixiana), contact your healthcare provider.
