Can I take Lions mane and Reisha together?

Both Lion's Mane and Reishi mushrooms have natural blood-thinning properties. Taking them together might increase the risk of bruising or bleeding, especially if you are already taking blood-thinning medication or have an upcoming surgery. Additionally, both may lower blood sugar levels, which could lead to feeling dizzy or shaky if levels drop too low.

Why this happens

Both supplements can slow down blood clotting (antiplatelet effect) and improve how the body uses insulin (hypoglycaemic effect). When used together, these effects can add up, making them stronger than when taken alone.

What you should do

For most healthy people, this combination is usually fine in standard doses. However, you should stop taking both at least two weeks before any scheduled surgery. If you take medication for diabetes or blood pressure, or if you take blood thinners (like warfarin or aspirin), speak to your doctor before combining these supplements. Monitor yourself for signs of low blood sugar or unusual bruising.
