There are no known harmful interactions between maitake and turkey tail mushrooms. Both are medicinal fungi that are often taken together to support the immune system. However, because both can stimulate the immune system, there is a theoretical possibility of an additive effect.

Why this happens
Both maitake (Grifola frondosa) and turkey tail (Trametes versicolor) contain complex sugars called beta-glucans. These compounds work in a similar way by activating certain immune cells (like natural killer cells and macrophages). Taking them together may increase this immune-stimulating effect.
What you should do
It is generally considered safe to take these two supplements together. However, if you have an autoimmune condition (such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis) or are taking immunosuppressant medication, you should consult your doctor before combining them, as they may interfere with your treatment.
