Taking 50 (sildenafil) with atorvastatin is generally safe, but both medications can lower your blood pressure. When taken together, you might feel slightly more dizzy or light-headed than usual, especially when standing up quickly.

Why this happens

Sildenafil works by relaxing blood vessels to improve blood flow. While atorvastatin is primarily for cholesterol, it also has a mild effect on how blood vessels function. Together, they can have a small additive effect on lowering your blood pressure.

You can usually take these together, but be mindful of dizziness. To stay safe, get up slowly from a sitting or lying position. If you feel very dizzy or faint, sit back down immediately and inform your doctor. Ensure you are not taking any nitrate medications (like GTN spray or isosorbide mononitrate) for chest pain, as sildenafil must never be mixed with those.
