Can I take Pregabalin and Sedoxil together?

Drug interaction guide

Taking pregabalin and Sedoxil (mexazolam) together can significantly increase the risk of severe drowsiness, dizziness, and breathing difficulties. Why this happens

Both medications are central nervous system (CNS) depressants. They work by slowing down brain activity in different ways. When taken together, their effects add up (a synergistic effect), leading to much stronger sedation than either drug would cause on its own.

What you should do

You should only take these two medicines together if they have been specifically prescribed by the same doctor who is aware of both prescriptions. Avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require alertness until you know how this combination affects you. Do not drink alcohol while taking these medications. If you experience extreme sleepiness or difficulty breathing, seek medical help immediately.
