There are no known significant interactions between Sedoxil (mexazolam) and Vitamin D supplements. It is generally considered safe to take these two together.
Why this happens
Sedoxil is a benzodiazepine medication used for anxiety, and Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. They are processed by different pathways in the body and do not interfere with how the other works.
What you should do
You can continue to take both as prescribed. As with any supplement, it is best to take Vitamin D with a meal to help your body absorb it properly. Always inform your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines and supplements you are taking.
Important precautions
Drowsiness and coordination
Sedoxil causes significant drowsiness and affects your coordination. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. The effect is much stronger if you drink alcohol.
Dependence and withdrawal
Sedoxil can be addictive if used for more than a few weeks. Do not stop taking it suddenly, as this can cause serious withdrawal symptoms like tremors or seizures.
Severe Respiratory Insufficiency or Sleep Apnoea
Sedoxil is a benzodiazepine that can suppress breathing. It must be avoided if you have severe lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or sleep apnoea, as it may lead to dangerous respiratory failure.
Hypercalcaemia (high blood calcium)
Do not take vitamin D if you have high levels of calcium in your blood or urine, as it can lead to serious kidney damage and heart rhythm problems.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking Sedoxil. Alcohol significantly increases the sedative effects of this medicine, which can lead to extreme sleepiness, breathing difficulties, and a loss of coordination. Combining them also increases the risk of liver damage.
Grapefruit juice
Avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit while taking Sedoxil. Grapefruit contains compounds that slow down the breakdown of this medicine in your body, which can lead to dangerously high levels of the drug in your bloodstream and increase the risk of side effects.
Caffeine (Coffee, tea, energy drinks)
Limit your intake of caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant that can counteract the calming and anti-anxiety effects of Sedoxil, making the medicine less effective.
High-fat meals
Vitamin D is fat-soluble. It is best absorbed when taken with a meal that contains some fat (such as eggs, avocado, nuts, or dairy) to ensure your body gets the full benefit of the supplement.

Can I take Magnesium and Wegovy flextouch together?
There is no known direct interaction between magnesium supplements and Wegovy (semaglutide). However, both can affect your digestive system. Wegovy slows down how quickly your stomach empties, which could theoretically change how quickly your body absorbs magnesium, though this is rarely a clinical concern. Additionally, both can cause side effects like nausea or changes in bowel habits (magnesium often softens stools, while Wegovy can cause constipation or diarrhoea).
