The National Autistic Society (formed in 1962 as the National Society for Autistic Children) exists to champion the rights and interests of all people with autism and to ensure that they and their families receive quality services appropriate to their needs. The aims of the Society are:

  • To offer families and carers information, advice and support.
  • To improve awareness amongst key decision-makers, professionals and the general public.
  • To provide training and promote research into autism.
  • To develop a range of educational and support services for people with autism.
