There are no known significant interactions between black cohosh and vitamin C. It is generally considered safe to take these two supplements together.
Why this happens
Black cohosh and vitamin C are processed by the body through different pathways. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that does not significantly interfere with the liver enzymes (such as the Cytochrome P450 system) that process black cohosh. Additionally, they do not have overlapping effects that would cause a dangerous build-up or a reduction in effectiveness.
What you should do
You can continue to take both supplements as directed on the packaging or by your healthcare provider. However, always inform your doctor or pharmacist about all supplements you are taking, especially if you have a history of liver problems, as black cohosh has been rarely linked to liver issues.
Important precautions
Pregnancy
Do not use black cohosh during pregnancy. It may stimulate uterine contractions, potentially increasing the risk of miscarriage or premature labour.
Liver disease
Black cohosh has been linked to rare but serious cases of liver failure. You must stop taking it and see a doctor immediately if you develop yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or severe stomach pain.
Hormone-sensitive conditions (e.g. breast cancer)
Because black cohosh may act like the hormone oestrogen, you should not use it if you have a history of breast cancer, uterine cancer, or endometriosis without specialist medical supervision.
Kidney stones
High doses of vitamin C can increase the amount of oxalate in your urine, significantly raising the risk of developing kidney stones, especially if you have had them before.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
Black cohosh has been linked to rare but serious cases of liver damage. Because alcohol also puts strain on the liver, it is advisable to limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking this supplement to reduce the risk of liver toxicity.

Can I take Mounjaro and Metformin together?
When taken together, Mounjaro and Metformin can increase the risk of your blood sugar levels dropping too low (hypoglycaemia). While both drugs work to lower blood sugar, they do so in different ways, which can sometimes lead to an additive effect. Additionally, Mounjaro slows down how quickly your stomach empties, which might slightly change how your body absorbs Metformin, though this is usually not a major concern.

Can I take Maitake and Turkey tail together?
There are no known harmful interactions between maitake and turkey tail mushrooms. Both are medicinal fungi that are often taken together to support the immune system. However, because both can stimulate the immune system, there is a theoretical possibility of an additive effect.
