There are no known harmful interactions between ashwagandha and Vitamin B complex. In fact, they are often taken together to help manage stress and energy levels.
It is usually safe to take ashwagandha and vitamin B complex together.
Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb that helps the body manage stress, while Vitamin B complex supports energy metabolism and nervous system function.
They work through different pathways in the body and do not interfere with how the other is absorbed, broken down, or used.
How to take ashwagandha and vitamin B complex safely
Always follow the dosage instructions on the product labels.
If you have an underlying medical condition (such as a thyroid disorder or autoimmune disease), speak with your GP or a pharmacist before starting ashwagandha.
Important precautions
Pregnancy
Do not use ashwagandha during pregnancy as it could cause a miscarriage.
Autoimmune diseases
Ashwagandha can stimulate the immune system, which may worsen the symptoms of autoimmune conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and MS.
Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
Ashwagandha can increase thyroid hormone levels. You must avoid it if you have an overactive thyroid, as it may worsen your condition or interfere with thyroid medications.
Scheduled Surgery
Stop taking ashwagandha at least 2 weeks before surgery; it can slow down the central nervous system and may dangerously increase the effect of anaesthesia.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking ashwagandha as it has sedative properties and may enhance the effects of alcohol.
Combining them can lead to excessive drowsiness, impaired coordination, and slowed reaction times.
Dairy products
While dairy is a good source of B vitamins, taking a B complex supplement with a very large amount of dairy may slightly alter the absorption rate of Riboflavin (B2).
However, for most people, taking them together is acceptable unless specified by a doctor.

Can I take Mounjaro and Metformin together?
When taken together, Mounjaro and Metformin can increase the risk of your blood sugar levels dropping too low (hypoglycaemia). While both drugs work to lower blood sugar, they do so in different ways, which can sometimes lead to an additive effect. Additionally, Mounjaro slows down how quickly your stomach empties, which might slightly change how your body absorbs Metformin, though this is usually not a major concern.

Can I take Sertraline and Fluoxetine together?
Taking sertraline and fluoxetine together significantly increases the risk of a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome. This happens because both medicines work by increasing the level of a chemical called serotonin in your brain. If levels get too high, it can cause symptoms like shivering, diarrhoea, confusion, severe muscle tightness, fever, and even seizures. Additionally, fluoxetine can slow down how your body breaks down sertraline, leading to a build-up of the drug in your system and increasing the risk of side effects.
