Can I take Soft and Strivit d3 together?

Both medications contain Vitamin D3 (Colecalciferol). Taking them together increases the risk of having too much Vitamin D in your body, which can lead to high calcium levels (hypercalcaemia). Symptoms can include feeling sick, constipation, excessive thirst, or bone pain.

Why this happens

This is an 'additive effect'. Because both products contain the same active ingredient, taking them at the same time is effectively a double dose, which can lead to toxicity over time.

What you should do

Do not take both medications at the same time unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Check the dosage on each packet; usually, you only need one source of Vitamin D supplement. If you have been prescribed both by different doctors, please consult your pharmacist to ensure the total dose is safe for you.
